Film fans in Bucharest have a second chance this year to watch some of the productions which marked the cinema in 2014. During January 2 and 8, 14 of the most awarded, acclaimed and talked about films in the past year will be screened at Cinema Studio in Bucharest. The selection includes titles signed by filmmakers like Lars von Trier, Jim Jarmusch, Joel and Ethan Coen, David Cronenberg, Michel Hazanavicius or Romanian Corneliu Porumboiu.

The screening series will open this Friday, January 2, at 17:30 with a preview: the multi-awarded La Jaula de Oro (directed by Diego Quemada-Díez), followed by The Search, the drama on the war in Chechnya, directed by Michel Hazanavicius, starting 19:30.

The other productions to be screened during the first week of 2015 are: Maps to the Stars (David Cronenberg), In Order of Disappearance (Hans Petter Moland), Stations of the Cross (Dietrich Brüggemann), Nymphomaniac 1 & 2 (Lars von Trier), Borgman (Alex Van Warmerdam), Blood Ties (Guillaume Canet), La Grande Bellezza (Paolo Sorrentino), The Broken Circle Breakdown (Felix Van Groeningen), When Evening Falls on Bucharest or Metabolism (Corneliu Porumboiu), Inside Llewyn Davis (Joel și Ethan Coen), Only Lovers Left Alive (Jim Jarmusch) and Like Father, Like Son (Kore-Eda Hirokazu).
