KINOdiseea, international film festival for kids, will bring to Bucharest 15 movies and over 100 short movies for both kids and movie enthusiasts who enjoy stories. For six days, during November 14 and 19, Cinema PRO, Studio and Eforie movie theaters will host movies, 3D animations, a Competition with the latest international productions for kids, a retrospective of classical movies, cinema workshops, Q & A sessions with the filming teams, themed parties with foreign actors and directors.
The sixth edition includes productions which had their world launch in 2014 in festivals such as Berlin IFF and Toronto IFF. The latest production of the screenwriter and director Veit Helmer, Fiddlesticks, had its premiere in 2014 at the Cannes Festival and will be screened in premiere in Romania. Beyond Beyond is another production awaited at the festival – directed by Esben Toft Jacobsen, it is inspired by the Scandinavian mythology and the Northern folklore and fairytales. Directed by Mathias Malzieu and Stéphane Berla, and produced by Luc Besson, the French animation Jack et la Mécanique du Coeur charms through the fairytale atmosphere combined with Gothic and Victorian elements, reminding of Tim Burton’s style. To See the Sea is the debut of the young Czech director Jiří Mádl – the title refers to François Truffaut’s child character Antoine Doinel from Les quatre cents coups who, just as Tomas, longs to see the sea.
Entrance to day-time screenings is free and can be booked online on kinodiseea.ro. Tickets for screenings starting at 19:00 hours are RON 7 (EUR 1,6) for children and RON 10 (EUR 2,2) for adults, and can be purchased on www.eventbook.ro.
