British singer Bonnie Tyler will hold a concert at Sala Palatului, Bucharest on December 8, after nearly 20 years since her last performance in Romania.
Bonnie Tyler, by her real name Gaynor Hopkins Sullivan , is a famous singer worldwide , knowns for her hits from the 70s and 80s “It’s a Heartache”, “Holding Out for a Hero” and “Total Eclipse of the Heart”. The artist was born in a small town near Swansea, England. During her childhood, Bonnie was writing down the lyrics of the songs her father was recording, then she used to sing those she liked the most, standing in front of the mirror. Roger Bell who later became her manager, discovered her in 1975 and left straight to London to tell producers and composers Ronnie Scott and Steve Wolve about the fabulous voice he had discovered in Swansea. In 1976, Bonnie Tyler went through a vocal cord surgery to have some nodules removed. The success of the surgery was partial as after the intervention the artist got a hoarse voice which would yet bring her unexpected success. Tyler’s debut album, “The World Starts Tonight”, was praised by the critics building her a solid reputation. The single “It’s a Heartache” was one of the 1978 most loved hits. Two years later Bonnie Tyler’s career records a new great success with the song “Total Eclipse of the Heart”, which topped the charts both in Great Britain and in the USA.
The event in Bucharest is organized by Project Events and will start at 20.00. The tickets are priced between RON 100 and RON 300 and can be bought online from eventim.ro network.
