A new book launched by Romanian president Klaus Iohannis, the Romanian translation of Umberto Eco’s latest novel and several events focusing on Czech Literature are among the line-up of events taking place at this year’s edition of Bookfest book fair. The fair will start on May 20 and end May 24, and will take place in its traditional location at Romexpo at Piata Presei Libere in Northern Bucharest.

Over 200 publishing houses will participate at the event, and over 300 events have been scheduled over the span of only four days.

Some of the books to be launched in Romanian editions at the fair include a new book on Romania on Queen Mary of Romania, part of Curtea Veche Publishing’s series on the Romanian royal family, the translation of Eco’s Zero Issue and a book gathering letters sent to Radio Free Europe between 1986 and 1989, published by Polirom publishing house.
