The first edition of the Bucharest Art Film Festival, set to take place between September 8th and September 11th at the Peasant Museum Cinema, is dedicated to Romanian sculptor Constantin Brancusi. The event aims to bring to public attention a rich set of materials regarding the artist’s life and work, against the background of the 140 years celebration since the sculptor’s birth.

The festival will open with a screening of Brancusi filmé, a documentary featuring images with the artists from the 1922-1938 period. The images will be accompanied by the live piano improvisation of musician Mircea Tiberian.

The festival will also feature debates such as “Advertising art: campaigns and culture endorsers” and “The art of loving our patrimony”. A seminar titled “Brancusi for beginners” will also take place.

Overall, the festival wants to present the best films about art, photography, collectors and artists. Film screenings, master classes, debates and exhibitions are all part of the schedule, which can be checked here.
