Bucharest Christmas Market, the largest such fair in the capital, will be open between November 27th and December 27th at the Universitatii square. For a month, the capital’s downtown area will be filled with little cabins selling a variety of season products. At the same time, children will have the opportunity to meet and greet Santa Claus and leave letters for him prior to his coming.
Various traditional objects will go on sale, from painted ceramics to carved wood, icons and embroideries, traditional costumes and masks, wooden toys and musical instruments, hand-painted globes and various other decorations. Those visiting the fair will also get the chance to sample traditional Romanian food – cozonaci, mulled wine, sweet bread, magiun, honey and more.
The stage of the Christmas market will also see a series of concerts covering varied musical genres: folk music, carols and more.
Visitors can also contribute to the humanitarian campaign supporting underprivileged children by donating books and toys.
The full program of the market is being updated here.
