Polish violinist Patrycja Piekutowska, a special guest in this season’s opening concert of the Radio National Orchestra, will perform with the same orchestra in its next concert at Sala Radio, on January 23, at 19:000.

Piekutowska is the first Polish violinist to have received the highest award at Cannes Classical Award, in 2008. Her international career includes performances in Poland and in other 32 countries among which Argentina, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany and USA. She has held more than 50 concerts in South America. She was also invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires and the National Arts Centre in Beijing.

The concert is conducted by Romanian Cristian Oroșanu, international musician who conducted famous European ensembles such as Orchestre de Paris at the Aix en Provence Festival, Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine, Tonhalle Zürich Orchestra, BBC Scottish Orchestra, the philharmonics in Strasbourg and Bruxelles. In 2005, at the Competition for Young Conductors in Malko where he won the second place, he conducted the Radio Symphonic Orchestra in Denmark. He has conducted almost all the philharmonic and opera theater orchestras in the country, as well as the Radio Romania music ensembles. Cristian Oroșanu is also the founder of the Kamerata Kronstadt Orchestra.

The program of this Friday concert includes Brahms’ Concerto in D Major for Violin and Orchestra, opus 77 and Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances, opus 45.
