The First Escape (Prima Evadare), the largest cross-country cyclist marathon in Eastern Europe according to the organizers, will take place May 10th on the already established route of the capital’s northern area woods. Over 2,000 cyclists have already joined the contest, which is this year at its seventh edition. The contest takes place on a route of 55 kilometers and awarded prizes for 15 categories are set to exceed EUR 7,000.

This year, the marathon takes place with several additional events: a photo contest, an air demonstration event by members of the Romanian AeroClub, and themed film screenings. Also as part of the event, funds will be raised for the Ajungem Mari NGO.
