La Historia de Cuba club in Old Town will host on January 11 a concert called Jazz Manouche, held by the Romanian band Django Sound Quintet.
Founded in 2010 by Constantin Manea, Eugen Vasile, Mircea Constantin, Gabriel Brutaru and Cristian Mirea, Django Sound Quartet brings back the tradition of manouche jazz in Romania, preserving the authenticity of the classical jazz from early 30’s also known as the swing era.
For the last two years this quintet has reached a rich track record having an intense professional activity on the international stages and also in Romania. Since 2011, Django Sound Quintet has been approaching a different and new kind of manouche jazz combined with the authentic Romanian folk music.
