European Literature Night returns to Bucharest on Wednesday, May 29. International Bookfest Salon 2013 invites literature lovers to take part of this route in 13 atypical spaces where they will have the chance to meet with the texts of classic and contemporary European authors. Fragments will be read by actors, authors, journalists and other public figures.
The readings, with a duration of up to 20 minutes each, will run in parallel, every half hour between 19.30 – 22.30 in specially selected locations (Carol I Blvd.- ICBratianu Blvd – Coposu Blvd – Traian Street): Dianei 4, The Living Room Café, ZOOM Out Lounge, Bistro AristoCats, Alchemia Art Gallery & Lounge, General Association of Hunters and Anglers in Romania, the Bucharest Stock Exchange, Lente & Coffee, Saga Film, MOL gas station Coposu, La Scena, Greentea, Blind Restaurant.
Fiction aficionados will have available 100 bikes to move from one reading to another. Bikes can be borrowed free at the AGR (Str. Olteni no. 3, District 3) between the 19.00 – 23.00 hours. Those interested are requested to send the request in advance at [email protected]
Besides readings from the best translations in Romanian literature, the organizers have prepared contests with book prizes and other surprises.
European Literature Night is a cultural project supported by the European Network of National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC), and it’s held every year in the major European countries.
