The Full Moon festival, dedicated to horror films, will take place between August 25th and August 28th in its usual location, the village of Biertani in Transylvania.

For four days, fans of the genre will get to watch horror movies, attend parties and workshops, engage in ghost hunting, escape-room type games and sample the culinary treats of the area at a traditional products fair.

Films will be screened at the Méliès Garden, the Vertigo Cinema and the Karloff Hall. The festival will end, as it is the event’s tradition, with The Rocky Horror Picture Show musical, which is 41 years old this year.

One of the novelties of the 2016 edition is the horror & fantastic shorts competition, which is back on the schedule, alongside the feature films competition. The public will decide in each section who will take the festival’s trophy home.

The concert of Foley’Ala, which will accompany the screening of the silent film Genuine: A Tale of a Vampire (1920), directed by Robert Wiene, is another highlight of the event. Wiene is known for the film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, a masterpiece of the genre.
