The World Press Photo exhibition will open this year in Bucharest’s Universitate Square during May 8 and 29. With around 100 local exhibitions produced every year, the tour of prize-winning photographs is one of the most popular traveling photo event in the world, seen by millions of visitors.
Each year, World Press Photo invites photographers from across the globe to participate in the World Press Photo Contest, a top photojournalism competition worldwide. An independent international jury of 19 experts judges all entries in Amsterdam, after which an annual exhibition takes the prize-winning images to 100 locations in 45 countries. World Press Photo is dedicated to promoting high-standard photojournalism and documentary photography worldwide.
The 2015 exhibition in Bucharest can be visited from Monday to Thursday during 11:00 – 21:00, on Friday during 11:00 – 22:00 and on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 22:00.
