The Portland, Oregon group Pink Martini is returning to Bucharest for a concert on October 4th at Sala Palatului. The group will play alongside lead singer China Forbes.

Having performed many times before in Bucharest, Pink Martini will bring to the capital their well-known hits but also pieces from their most recent album Dream a little dream. Released in 2014, this is the group’s eight studio album and was recorded together with The von Trapps (formerly The von Trapp Children) is a musical group made up of Sofia, Melanie, Amanda and August (formerly Justin) von Trapp, descendants of the Trapp Family Singers. They are the grandchildren of Werner von Trapp who was portrayed as Kurt in the film The Sound of Music.

Part of the group’s repertoire is now the Romanian piece Până când nu te iubeam. Originally sang by Maria Tanase, the piece was launched in 2013 in Romanian to mark 100 years since the birth of Maria Tanase.

Pink Martini was formed in 1994 by pianist Thomas Lauderdale in Portland, Oregon. Its music crosses genres such as classical, Latin, jazz and classic pop. The co-lead vocalists for Pink Martini are China Forbes and Storm Large.
