The seventh edition of Triatlon fara asfalt (Asphalt-free Triathlon) will take place June 4th in the natural reservations 2 Mai – Vama Veche and Hagieni – Albești, at the Black Sea shore. More than 800 contestants are expected at the start line of the event, which is part of the 140 Beats per Minute cross of the Romanian Triathlon Federation.
Among the participants at the event are Ciprian Bălănescu, the national triathlon champion and winner of the previous four editions of the event and Mihai Baractaru, the only Romanian triathlon contestant who qualified for the world final of the Ironman circuit.
The competition starts at 9:30 with the 1,000 meters swimming competition in the 2 Mai – Vama Veche marine reservation, continues with the 32 km cycling circuit in the Hagieni – Albești natural reservation, followed by a 6 km run on the beach and seafront of the 2 Mai – Vama Veche marine reservation.
The event targets both triathlon enthusiasts but also ones looking to attend only one of the sections of the event, through the relay section of the competition.
Registrations for the race can be made until May 30, 24:00, here.
More than 100 awards are available at this year’s run of the event.
Fără Asfalt was in 2010 the first off-road triathlon in Romania and is the competition with the highest number of participants. Around 30 percent of those taking part in the triathlon are at their first participation in this type of contest.
