The film, titled Arabian Nights, is France and Belgium’s entry for the 2016 Oscars and the winner of the Camera d’Or award at the Cannes Film Festival. The public of Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest will have the opportunity to watch the marathon film in its entirety. A Q&A session with the director Miguel Gomes (Tabu) via Skype will follow.

Another Cannes-awarded film to be screened at the event is La Tierra y la Sombra (Land and Shade) by César Augusto Acevedo. The film won three awards at Cannes: Camera d’Or, the prize for the best first feature from the entire selection, and the SACD and Révélation France 4 prizes in the International Critics’ Week section.

The event will bring for the first time in Romania the French actress, director and screenplay writer Emmanuelle Bercot. She will be presenting her film La Tête haute, which opened the Cannes Film Festival in 2015.
