One World Romania, the international documentary and human rights festival, takes place this year between March 21st and March 27th. Sixty films will be screened at this ninth edition. These were selected out of the 1,111 documentaries submitted at the end of 2015, four times more submissions than at previous editions.

The organizers say the films that will be screened represent a ‘cinematic pill where viewers will find treatments for some of the collective illnesses of modern society. They are the pills that help your conscious get out of a numb state.’

The opening screenings of the festival will take place at the National Museum of Contemporary Art MNAC in Bucharest on March 21st, besides the screenings at Elvire Popescu, the Czech Center, Cinemateca Eforie and Hollywood Multiplex. The full schedule of the event is available here.
