The opening concert of the Europafest Summer Edition takes place on July 16th, starting 18:00, at the Peles castle. This edition of the event, which runs from July 16th to July 25th, will see Romanian and international musicians perform in Sinaia.
The artists who will performe at the event are Remus Azoitei, Josephine Knight, Paul Edmund-Davies, and Charles Sewart.
Romanian violoinist Remus Azoiței settled in the U.K. after finishing his studies at Juilliard School – New York, and is part of the London music elite today. The Strad described him as “an uninhibited virtuoso, with soul and fabulous technique”. Josephine Knight is rated as one of the most important violinists of the U.K. and is known for her versatility as a soloist and chamber musician. Principal Flute for 20 years of the London Symphony Orchestra and for five years of the Philharmonia Orchestra, Paul Edmund-Davies has a solid international reputation. He has performed as a soloist with some of the most renowned conductors, among whom Leonard Bernstein, Mstislav Rostropovich and Pierre Boulez. As a member of the famous Chilingirian Quartet and the London Mozart Trio, violinist Charles Sewart has always had a full agenda, touring in more than forty countries at renowned festivals.
Summer Music Academy Sinaia is part of the event and offers advanced studies and intensive performance at the highest standards.
The access to the concert is by invitation, but free entrance is allowed within available seating.
The upcoming concerts are scheduled for the 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th of July and take place at Hotel Mara Sinaia, Dimitrie Ghica Park – Casino Sinaia and the Catholic Church.
