A first edition of the Organ Music Festival will take place at the Peles Castle in Sinaia on June 6th and 7th. The festival is occasioned by the recent reconditioning of the historical organ found in the music hall of the castle. The instrument was built in 1904 by the Rieger (Jägerndorf) company. Archive photos show Queen Elisabeth of Romania playing the organ. The queen had taken organ lessons when she was 12 from organ player, pianist and composer Sigismund Neukomm.
As part of the event, soprano Veronica Anusca and organ player Mihai Murariu will deliver a recital on June 6th, starting 16.00, while violin player Ladislau Csendes and organ player Remus Henning will perform on June 7th, starting 12.00. The program includes works by J.S.Bach, Al.Stradella, V.Bellini, J. Pachelbel, W.A.Mozart and G.Rossini.
