Balkanik Festival takes place this year between September 9th and September 11th at the Uranus Garden in the Uranus-Rahova neighborhood of Bucharest. At its sixth edition the festival has a line-up gathering top names of Arab, Indian, Turkish, Egyptian and Eastern Europe music.

Some of the first headliners of this sixth edition of the event are Taraf de Haidouks and Kocani Orkestar, two-long awaited groups performing on the same stage, and Arab music star Omar Souleyman. Three other names, coming from very diverse musical areas, add to the eclectic style of Balkanik Festival: Antwerp Gypsy-Ska Orkestra, Orange Blossom and Cumbuș Cemaat.

Taraf de Haidouks and Kocani Orkestar will bring to Bucharest the Band of Gypsies performance, which The Independent compared to “a trip through the gypsy music in Turkey, medieval Balkan ballads and even Romanian pop manele.”
