Three cycling marathons open the 2015 mountain biking calendar of one of the most popular cycling community in Romania. Urban Trail XCC, Ziua B (Day B in Romanian) and Beach Race XCO in March and April are the start of an all year round series of sportainment events such as competitions in spectacular settings and open air adventures organized by Riders Club. In 2015, the coordinator of the Riders Club project, MPG, plans to organize over 700 sports events in 70 cities for 10 types of individual and team sports.

The first event in the agenda is Urban Trail XCC, a Cross Country Short Circuit type competition with a route designed to test competitors’ technical skills. The competition will take place on March 15, during the spring edition of the Romanian Tourism Fair at Bucharest’s Romexpo.

On April 18, amateur cyclists can join the second edition of Ziua B which opens the classic MTB marathons. The competition starts off near the Phoenix Park Adventure at Cernica Lake near Bucharest and reels off in the Cernica – Pantelimon forest and its surroundings. The event will take place on a scenic route divided into two trails of 17 km and 41 km and a family race. The start is set in an area including facilities such as an amusement park, playground for children, parking, restaurants and a swimming pool.

One week later, the adventure continues on the Black Sea Coast with the only Olympic Cross Country in Europe taking place on a beach and included in the calendar of the International Cycling Union (UCI). The second edition of the Beach Race XCO competition is set for April 25 at Corbu beach in Constanta county, with a route both on the beach and the coast with access to the waterfront. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a challenging race on the sand and then relax on the wild beach at Corbu.
