The special guest of this year’s Reggae Nights edition is the British legend David Rodigan, also known as “The King”. He will perform for the first time in Bucharest on Saturday, May 31 in Tineretului Park.

For over 30 years David Rodigan has been the top artist in the ganja-scented, bass heavy-atmosphere of Britain’s reggae dance-halls. The key to his success has been an unsinkable passion for reggae music, which first took a hold of him as a schoolboy when he heard ska music in the early ’60s.

An active supporter of the movement, his experience includes a huge number of hours spent in broadcasting studios of the most prestigious radio stations such as Radio London, Capital 95.8, Kiss 100, BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Radio 2, BFBS Radio.

He won numerous awards such as World Cup Clash title in Queens NYC, Sony Gold Award for his 13 part series on BBC Radio 2, and in 2012 also saw the launch of his ‘Ram Jam’ events brand, with numerous festival tents across the UK.

The concert will begin at 23:00 and will take place outdoor in Tineretului Park, near the skating park, in a friendly nature atmosphere. Tickets can be purchased from or in the night of the event, and cost RON 30.
