One of the most popular mountain trail runs in Romania opened the registrations for its sixth edition, taking place on May 9 in Moeciu de Sus, near Bran Castle.

The trail has a particular beauty, running up and down the surroundings of Moeciu de Sus village, from the foothills of Bucegi mountains to Leaota. Besides the village, other popular natural attractions included in the marathon are: Moieciu de Sus village, Cheile Gradistei, Fundata village, Piatra Craiului, Bucegi and Leaota mountains, Valea Popii, Poiana Gutanu and Varful Bisericuta.

The event includes three distinct competitions: EcoMarathon – a 42 km marathon with a approximately +2300m level difference, EcoCross – 14 km cross with a +600m level difference and EcoKids – a competition for children with various distances, depending on age categories.

Among participants are international sportsmen such as Italian Emanuela Brizio, the winner of EcoMarathon 2013 & 21014, member of the Valetudo Sky Running team from Italy, and Romanian Ionuț Zincă, winner of the 2012 edition and winner of international mountain sports competitions.

Registrations can be made on the competition’s website, in the limit of available places: 600 for the marathon and 600 for the cross. Kids can register at the event, before the start. Around 400 kids are expected to join the run. Until February 14, the registration fee is RON 125 for the marathon and RON 100 for the cross. After this date, the new fees are RON 150, namely RON 125. In order for the online registration to be validated, the payment must be made within maximum 5 days.
