Contemporary dance events with international participants are rather rare in Romania, even in the capital. That is why, when Bucharest hosts two contemporary dance festivals in the same month, it’s something to take advantage of.

E-motional is the second event of this type happening in Bucharest during October 5 – November 9. Organized by ZonaD/ Gabriela Tudor Foundation, it announces 15 events: 8 shows and work-in-progress demos, 3 evenings with dance movies, 3 presentations and debates and 2 workshops for the public. One of the workshops will end with a performance in front of an audience. Taking place under the motto “reinvent yourself”, the festival is an experimental one and reaches out to people who enjoy change and are always on the lookout for new experiences.

All the events in the program will be hosted by ZonaD studio at the Gabriela Tudor Foundation, the National Center of Dance Bucharest (Centrul National al Dansului Bucuresti), Lorgean theatre and several secret locations you can find out about only if you want to be part of the audience.

E-motional brings together over 25 artists and dance professionals, participants or guests in the program. Among them are artists Mihaela Dancs, Cosmin Manolescu, Vava Stefanescu, Irinel Anghel, Jean Lorin Sterian, Catalina Gubandru, Cristian Nanculescu, Marin Voica, Adriana Gheorghe, Iulia Sima (Romania), Giselda Ranieri (Italy), Tanja Andreeva (Norway), Steinunn Ketilsdóttir (Iceland), Joana von Mayer Trindade, Joclécio Azevedo, Rogério Nuno Costa (Portugal); festival directors Olga Zitluhina (Latvia) and Alberto Magno (Portugal), dance critics Oana Stoica (Romania) and Inta Balode (Latvia).
