The yearly Saint Nicholas Fair will take place at the Romanian Peasant National Museum (MNTR), Friday, 30 November until Sunday, 2 December, every day between 10 am and 6 pm. The event will feature the most skillful and reputed craftsmen in this country: potters, iron smiths, spoon makers, confectioners, furriers, weavers, seamstresses, knitters, woodworkers and icon makers. Saint Nicholas is celebrated by the Orthodox Church on December 6.
The tradition in Romania goes that children will find gifts in their boots on the St. Nicholas morning if they were good during the year, or they can also find a stick if they behaved badly. St. Nicholas is the celebration that kicks off the holiday season in Romania.
