American classical violinist Sarah Chang, known to the Romanian public from her appearances at Enescu Festival, is returning to Romania for two new performances: one in Cluj-Napoca on April 15th and another one in Bucharest on April 16th. The Bucharest concert will take place at Sala Palatului.
She first played as a soloist with the New York Philharmonic at age 8 and the Philadelphia Orchestra in 1989. She graduated from the Juilliard School in 1999, and continued university studies.
She will be performing Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1. Her recordings of Bruch have been included by Gramophone Magazine among the best 250 of all time. Chang performed at the Enescu Festival in 2001, 2003 and 2015. She plays a Guarneri del Gesu violin, manufactured in 1717.
