Swedish dance and ballet choreographer Mats Ek will deliver two performances in Bucharest together with dancer and wife Ana Laguna. The two shows will take place October 7th and October 8th at the National Theater in Bucharest, as part of the JTI Meetings series.
Susanne Linke and Dominique Mercy will also dance in the October meetings. The four artists will perform in an original gala, Quartet Gala, highlighting the experience, emotions, wisdom and depth of mature dancers.
Ek, who is 70 years old, will perform together with Ana Laguna (61), two pieces: Potato and Memory. The public will get to see the couple performing their ‘autobiography’.
Dominique Mercy (65), a performer of Pina Bausch, will introduce the public to the atmosphere typical of the Bausch theater while performing the solo That Paper Boy, choreographed by Paschal Merighi.
German born dancer and choreographer Susanne Linke (71) will perform A Lost Solo…With Greeting To Dore, based on Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring.
This is not the first time Mats Ek is present in Romania. In 2005 he came at the JTI Meetings as choreographer of the Cullberg Ballet, with three pieces: Aluminium, his own creation, Empty House and Negro con Flores, both belonging to Johan Inger.
Tickets, priced RON 100 to RON 300 , are available in the Eventim network, on eventim.ro, and at the box office of the National Theater.
