SoNoRo Conac is a project developed by Asociația Sonoro with the aim to raise awareness regarding the many restored heritage buildings – fabulous, spectacular, elegant buildings which need to be reintroduced into the cultural circuit.
Casa Monteoru belongs to the period called La Belle Epoque. The neo-classical façade of the building, the interiors as well as the furniture and chandeliers which were custom-made in Paris carry the signature of the famous Romanian architect Ion Mincu. Until the occupation of the Soviet Army in 1944, the building was known as “the Monteoru Palace”.
