The tribute concert Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie will take place March 31st, starting 20.00, at Sala Radio. The concert is being rescheduled from the fall of last year, and the tickets bought in 2015 are still valid.

The concert is delivered by the All Star Band, made up of sax player Catalin Milea, trumpet player Sebastian Burneci (leader of the Bucharest Jazz Orchestra), pianist Sorin Zlat (winner of the 2015 Jacksonville Piano Jazz Competition), bass player Adrian Flautistu and drum player Iulian Nicolau.

Charles “Charlie” Parker, also known as “Yardbird” and “Bird”, was an American jazz saxophonist and composer. He was a very influential jazz soloist and a leading figure in the development of bebop. John Birks “Dizzy” Gillespie (pictured) was an American trumpet virtuoso and improviser, building on the virtuoso style of Roy Eldridge but adding layers of harmonic complexity previously unheard in jazz.

Tickets, priced RON 95 to RON 145, are available at
