The first edition of the visual arts festival Unfinished will take place between May 5th and May 29th. The festival follows the success of the World Press Photo event, which has been taking place for the past seven years, and will bring together multimedia journalism, film installations, and computational ad digital art.

The theme of this year’s edition is Humanity, a meditation on human condition and a re-evaluation of the way people relate to one another.

Some of the artists featured at the festival are: Michelangelo Frammartino, Chris Milk, Gabo Arora, Vrse, Ivan Sigal, Jongsma + Oneill, McCarthy & McDonald, Phil Toledano, Topaz Adizes, Gabriel Dance, The Marshall Project, Zackary Canepari, Francesca Panetta, Tim Hetherington, Ali Palitz, Saeed Taji Farouky, Ziv Schneider, Bear 71.

The Unfinished Bucharest Visual Arts Festival includes the World Press Photo Expo 2016 as one of its main pillars but also expands into art, storytelling and digital evolution. A lot of great content produced by photographers, visual artists, filmmakers and digital artists has been overlooked by photography and visual art festivals.

Through the talks program the content presented in the exhibitions will be discussed and put into context by journalists, scientists, data artists and policy makers.

The festival will open May 5th, starting 19:00, at the National Theater in Bucharest.
