The 23rd edition of Jeunesses International Music Competition Dinu Lipatti will take place in Bucharest between May 14th and May 21st. One hundred pianists from 34 countries are expected at the event. Musicians from Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Rep., Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, The Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, South Korea, Switzerland Taiwan-China, Turkey, Ukraine and USA will be competing for prizes worth EU 10,000.

The jury of the event is made up of international artists and professors from prestigious academies from USA, China, Germany, Italy and Romania. Organized yearly since 1994, the competition alternates for different disciplines – piano, violin, clarinet, flute, composition, canto, 2016 being the year of the piano. The mission of the competition is to discover, award and promote the values of the new generation of classical music, to support the artists in building successful careers, to encourage the mobility, and to offer a platform for international exchange.
