Gheorghe Petrașcu

Gheorghe Petrașcu was a Romanian painter and academic who got a scholarship to study abroad in Munich and Paris at the turn of the 20^th century, following a recommendation by Nicolae Grigorescu. In his early years, he painted landscapes in Romania and abroad, especially in France, Spain and Italy. His Venice landscapes are among his most famous works.
