Built during 1800 – 1811 in neogothic style, the mansion was the main residence of Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza, important figure in the history of modern Romania. Now it is open to the public as a memorial museum and annually hosts Festivalul Pălăriilor și Hora Satului (Festival of the Hats and Village Hora), at the end of September.
