Portuguese fado singer Ana Moura will perform in Bucharest on February 27th in a concert set for Sala Palatului. The Bucharest concert is part of the artist’s newest tour to promote her latest album. Titled Moura, this was launched at the end of November. She is expected to perform pieces from the new album but also one known to Romanian audiences such as Leva-me aos Fados, Até ao Verão or O Fado da Procura.
Born in 1979, Moura is recognized as one of the youngest fado performers. Her first album was released in 2003 with the name Guarda-me a vida na mão and was followed in 2005 by Aconteceu. She is considered one of the most vibrant Portuguese performers, having sold 300,000 records and having won one dozen awards, which include two Golden Globes, two Amália awards and one Best Artist nomination for the Songlines Music Awards, and joint performances with such music icons as Prince, The Rolling Stones, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil and Herbie Hancock.
