The musical and operetta theater Ion Dacian in Bucharest is celebrating 65 years since its establishment with a series of festive events throughout November. Grouped under the title Opereta 65, the events are meant to showcase the complexity of this musical genre.

The collage show Dolce Vita, the most recent production of the theater, will be performed on November 14th and November 15th. A Romanian vocal-instrumental music concert will take place on November 12th, featuring soprano Bianca Ionescu and piano player Stefan Doniga performing pieces composed by Tiberiu Brediceanu, Eduard Caudella, Alfred Alessandrescu, Florin Comisel, George Grigoriu or George Enescu.

Ernest Fazekas’s musical The Second Second will be performed on November 17th. It will be presented in a novel, reading-performance format, allowing the audience to discover the importance of the text.

Musical Avenue will be on November 18th, featuring, tenor Florin Budnaru and his guests George Cobuz, Lucas Molina, Adina Sima and Adriana Vlad.

November 21st and 22nd will see representations of Paris, mon amour, while music and poetry recital Anais will take place on November 24th.
