The twelfth edition of the International Children’s Theater Festival takes place in Bucharest between October 1st and October 8th, gathering over 50 events dedicated to children, parents and educators, and to professionals working in the children’s theater sector.

For the duration of a week the public is invited to attend a selection of dramatic and lyrical theater, dance theater, pantomime or sensorial shows for toddlers, delivered by 23 theaters and companies from nine countries. At the same time, the Ion Creangă Theater is proposing its yearly series of events associated with the festival: children’s workshops, artists’ workshops, conferences and debates.

Some of the invited theater companies come this year from Italy (Principio Attivo Theater, La Baracca – Testoni Ragazzi, Scarlattine Theater, Belcan Theater), Spain (Compania Da.Te Danza, Paraiso Theater), France (Act2 Company), Belgium (De Spiegel Theater), Poland (Poznan Animation Theater), Finland (Auraco Dance Company), Greece (Hop Signor Puppet Theater) and Israel (Nephesh Theater  and Svironi Theater). Ten theaters, independent companies and cultural associations from Romania will add up to the program of events. They are: the Children’s Comic Opera, the Țăndărică Theater, the Hopa-Trop Company, the Punctart Association, PETEC – The Association for Theater and Book, and the Ion Creangă Theater (Bucharest), Gulliver Puppet Theater (Galați), Csíki Játékszín Theater (Miercurea Ciuc), Regina Maria Theater, Arcadia Theater (Oradea) and the Creation and Experiment Reactor– Mini Reactor (Cluj Napoca).

The festival also features a competition section, where the best productions and performances will be awarded by an international jury.
