The fifth edition of the project “Cu bastonul prin Bucuresti” (With the cane in Bucharest) will invite people to discover the Romanian Capital step by step. Organized by the Romanian Association for Culture and Education – ARCEN – the event will be held every weekend, from July 26 to September 7, in Piata George Enescu, starting in front of Athenaeum from 11.00 on Saturdays and 18:00 on Sundays.
The theme of this year’s edition is the 555-year anniversary of the Romanian capital. The ARCEN volunteers guides will have lots of stories form the Bucharest’s past, such as: The most fashionable thoroughfare of the capital, stories about the first horse-drawn trams, night life in Bucharest, crimes, fashion and luxury, but also stories about tenants, princes, courtesans, politicians, summer gardens, palaces, theaters, and so on.
The free guided tour will last for two hours and the guides will speak Romanian, English and French.
