Daddy G, the founder and prolific voice behind the famous band Massive Attack, will perform on February 1 at Atelierul de Productie in Bucharest. The evening will be complemented by the Romanian DJs Gemini Bros and Ufe.
Grant Marshall, a.k.a Daddy G, is considered as a “spiritus rector” of what became known today as “ The Bristol Sound”, a relaxing wave which includes dub, reggae, funk, disco and hip-hop music. Representatives of this wave are Massive Attack, Smith & Mighty, Tricky and Portishead.
Long before being part of the group, Daddy G has made an reputation as a DJ. In 1980 he was already one of the youngest DJs in Bristol, England. He used to perform the latest disco, New York’s fresh punk funk, rap and reggae. His Dj sets where so popular, not only due to his technical selection and mixing, but also for his versatility behind the microphone.
