Balkan music performer and composer Goran Bregovic will be in Bucharest for a concert on August 29th at Arenele Romane. He will perform alongside Wedding and Funeral Orchestra, and having Mahala Rai Banda and Gipsy Casual as guests. The concert is part of the first edition of the inter-cultural festival Baro Foro.

With a career spanning more than 45 years, Bregovic has collaborated in time with Iggy Pop, Eugene Hutz (Gogol Bordello) or Cesaria Evora and composed the soundtrack for Emir Kusturica’s films Time of the Gypsies, Arizona Dream and Underground.

His most recent album, titled Champagne for Gypsies, was launched three years ago, with positive reviews from critics. The music mixes influences from tango to brass and is inspired from the culture of the Balkans.
