Romanian born pianist Lucian Ban, who now lives in the US, will deliver a performance in Bucharest on October 11th at Sala Radio. The concert will see modern jazz meet traditional music for a presentation of the album Songs from Afar, alongside New York jazz quartet Elevation.

Saxophonist Abraham Burton, bass player John Herbert and percussionist Eric McPherson will go on stage alongside Ban.

Lucian Ban was raised in the small village of Teaca in Transylvania, listening to authentic folk songs from an early age. In 1999 he moved to New York, where he studied at the New School University and made his US debut with the album Somethin’ Holy, in a duet with saxophonist Alex Harding. The album Premonition followed in 2003, Tuba Project, with Bob Stewart in 2006 and Playground, with Jorge Sylvester, also in 2006.
