Today, January 13, Dance Scottish will screen Controlled Abandoned, a documentary made by BBC One on the anniversary of 90 years of Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. The film explains the history and the culture behind the traditional dance and takes viewers behind the scene of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society.

The dance school chose to screen this film in particular as Alina Petrișan, dance instructor at the Dance Scottish shares her impressions and experience in the documentary. Alina is the first and the only Romanian to reach the performance of taking part in an event like Newcastle Festival, two years ago. She is currently running the Dance Scottish project in Bucharest where, each Tuesday evening, Celtic dancing classes are being organized.

The screening is hosted by Institutul pentru Fericire (the Institute for Happiness) and has a limited number of 30 places available. Tea and biscuits are on the house. The screening has no entry fee, but participants are welcome to leave a donation for the Dance Scottish, if they wish to do so. Check out the event page for more details.
