Munchhausen, the master of lies will be on April 1st at the Comic Opera for Children in Bucharest. The opera, with a score by Dan Dediu and directed by Cristian Mihailescu, was presented at the George Enescu festival.

The work aims to investigate the permanent competition between the ‘real’ world of theater and the ‘fantasy’ of television. It is based on the story of the fictional German nobleman and soldier created by the German writer Rudolf Erich Raspe in his 1785 book Baron Munchausen’s Narrative of his Marvellous Travels and Campaigns in Russia.

The choreography belongs to Razvan Mazilu, the scenography to Andreea Rotaru, the costumes to Daniela Dragulescu, while the production and design of the video-projections was done by Valentin Obretin, Bogdan Nedelcu and Alin Constantinescu.

The show is recommended to children and youth aged 14 and older.

Tickets, priced RON 15 to RON 25, are available at and at the box office of the Comic Opera for Children.
