Musician Vlad Stanculeasa, a concertmaster of the Göteborg Symphony Orchestra, will deliver a concert in Bucharest on January 20th at the Radio Hall in Bucharest. He will perform alongside the Radio Chamber Orchestra and on the Sanctus Serafin violin that belonged to George Enescu.
The 1739 Sanctus Serafin violin was bought by Enescu when he was a student in Vienna and, towards the end of his life, he gifted it to his student Yehudi Menuhin.
Vlad Stanculeasa won in 2007 the Enescu award for his interpretation of the Childhood impressions piece of the Romanian composer at the George Enescu Interational Contest. Before his Göteborg position, he was an invited concertmaster at the Basel Chamber Orchestra. He is a soloist of the Camerata Lysy and performed on well-known stages, such as the Victoria Hall (Geneva) or the Casion (Bern).
