American jazz band Oregon will perform in Bucharest at Sala Radio, on April 21. The concert is part of Jazz Night Out series of jazz concerts taking place in the capital.

Named after a state in the USA, Oregon has released so far 30 albums, one of them having legendary Trilok Gurtu on percussion, and received four Grammy nominations for their project with the Tchaikovsky Symphonic Orchestra in Moscow. Ralph Towner – guitar and piano, Paul McCandless – oboe, wind instruments, Glen Moore – base and Mark Walker – drums and percussions have performed together in legendary concert halls like Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and the Berlin Philarmonic Hall.

Two of the founding members – Ralph Towner and Glen Moore – were on the stage of Woodstock in the famous year of 1969. Group leader Ralph Towner is a prolific multi-instrumentalist, playing a twelve-string guitar, classic guitar, piano, synthesizer, trumpet and percussions and having taken part in the recording of 55 albums. He has performed with musicians like Gary Burton, John Abercrombie, Jack DeJohnette, Paolo Fresu, Gary Peacock and Bill Bruford.
