Friday, September 19, at 19:30, Bucharest will be the host of a concert in premiere: London Community Gospel Choir will perform for the first time in Romania. The concert raising funds for HOSPICE Casa Speranței Foundation will take place at the National Museum of Art (Auditorium Hall).
Now in their 30th year, they are known as the “UK’s favorite choir” and it is not hard to understand why when you hear their voices soar over rugby pitches, arenas and other venues across the world. Their vocal harmony singing has backed many pop stars too, including Madonna, Sting, Sir Elton John, Diana Ross, Sir Paul McCartney, Mariah Carey and Celine Dion. They recorded a well known hymn “Abide with me” as ITV’s FA Cup theme song, which they performed live on the famous Wembley football pitch at the FA cup final in 2009.
“We are pleased to announce this concert in premiere in Romania. If any evidence is needed of the power and beauty of the human voice, London Community Gospel Choir provides it. It is a collective of the finest voices in the UK, drawn from all ages, colors and backgrounds. Their vibrant performance is guaranteed to uplift you!“ said Graham Perolls, President of the HOSPICE Casa Speranței Foundation.
The concert will take place on the same day as the official opening of a new Bucharest HOSPICE unit. All 13 singers of the London Community Gospel Choir agreed to donate their fees to the HOSPICE cause.
