(P) The Romanian-American University is devoted to excellence in teaching, learning and research, providing exciting opportunities for students, teachers and researchers to follow their intellectual curiosity. The University considers higher education to be more than a stepping stone to one’s career: a stimulating way to develop a better self.
Established in 1991, the Romanian-American University received the „High Confidence Rating” certification from the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS). The University and all our academic programs are fully accredited by ARACIS and the degree granted is Internationally recognized.
RAU welcomes students from all over the world, offering them first-rate Romanian and English-taught BA and MA programmes devised according to the demands of the labour market and the expectations of the employers:
The RAU curriculum is designed by university experts assisted by international specialists and practitioners, having an interdisciplinary approach and being based on partnerships with the business environment. Courses feature a high topicality of subjects and focus on practical aspects: business simulations, scenarios and case studies, laboratory activities. Creativity and innovation skills are pursued and multicultural environments and intercultural competences are targeted. Students’ entrepreneurial spirit is fostered and facilities for business (start-up) support are available. Numerous courses, lectures and presentations given by exchange professors from Europe and the US encourage the students’ active engagement with global thought leaders.
The RAU teaching, learning and research activities are carried out in a modern campus structure endowed with a wide range of facilities, from purpose-built classrooms and laboratories, WiFi and IT suites to well-stocked libraries, high-quality food service units and cafeteria, as well as excellent en-suite accommodation. RAU students are treated as individuals and helped to study on their own terms – using the strengths and abilities they have to further core competencies across the board.
The University also hosts various cultural and activity centers, some of them unique in Romania:
These centers organize a full range of programmes for students to take part in, both academically and also for fun: special seminars and workshops with professional guest speakers, music and theatre shows, special demonstrations and ceremonies. The University encourages its students to explore Romanian scenery and traditions in specially organized trips (2-3 days) several times a year. There is also a rafting trip planned each summer for students and professors alike, in order to enjoy nature seasoned with some adrenalin rush. Extracurricular activities are organized by the RAU Student Club, the RAU Travel Mates Tourism club, The Performance student magazine and the Book Nook – the RAU English book mini-library.
